Cats Take Care of the Leafs
16-Nov-2008
As wildfires ravaged communities in close range of player homes, the Wildcats Mite B team stepped on the ice inspired and played their most complete game of the young season shutting out the visiting Maple Leafs of Pasadena 9 - 0. With the Wildcats short 4 players, the Cats scored 2 goals in the first two periods and then fired up the scoring machine with 5 goals in the third. The Cats were led by strong defense that allowed only 11 shots on goal all of which were stopped by goaltender by Ethan Lahmon. The offense was again led byTanner Ensign, who paced the team with two goals and two assists. Nicholas Torres added two goals and one assist. Newcomer Tyler Rhynes continued his scoring streak by adding a goal in the second period. In the third period, Coach Vitaly mixed lines a bit which led to goals by Niko Chmelevski, Kim Varjonen and two by Ian Gonzalez. Sunday's shut out was Ethan Lahmon's second of the young season.
